countess & imbecility / ZÖFFZIG robin (painting, graphic)
10 November 2018 - 12 January 2019
Under the title "countess & imbecility" we present paintings and graphics of the artist Robin Zöffzig, born 1984 in Magdeburg and living in Leipzig since 2012. The works were created especially for this exhibition and presented to the public for the first time. Countess Cosel's life of luxury and clichés in front of a glossy backdrop - an artificial world of well-being, even during her lifetime. Her sweet, promising pride, filled with delightful power and role plays, became her undoing. Robin Zöffzig translates this constellation into the present and shows today's would-be queens in their dazzlingly colourful, artificial candy world. The beautifully staged existence with questionable function becomes a prison, the claims run into nothing and the self-dramatization becomes nonsensical and meaningless.
