In 2013, Karl Dominick founded the FLOX gallery in Kirschau near Bautzen in the old “Friese” textile factory under the motto: “Contemporary art away from the big cities - but in the middle of the world”.

After four years of operating solely from the rural area, he opened a second location at the end of 2017 in the Saxon state capital of Dresden, in the renowned Baroque quarter.

With around 100 m² of exhibition space in Dresden and over 500 m² of exhibition space in Kirschau, Galerie FLOX was not only one of the largest privately run galleries of its kind in Saxony, but also the only one to operate in two such differentiated locations. In addition, as part of the funding, artists were offered residencies in Kirschau. Together with our partners, he increasingly developed the Kirschau location into an ART Factory.

In the fall of 2024, the previous director of the gallery, Hellfried Christoph, took over the FLOX gallery in Dresden. From this point on, Karl Dominick concentrates exclusively on the activities of ART Factory FLOX at the location in Kirschau, the cradle of the gallery.

The artistic focus remains on realistic painting and graphic art. Abstract positions as well as sculpture, plastic art, objects and installations complement the portfolio. Most of the artists come either directly or from the art academies in Leipzig, Halle and Dresden. They have the opportunity to work with us with the status “represented by Galerie FLOX” or as “guest artists”. Our aim is to include more international positions in our portfolio in the future.

The recipients and art buyers of Galerie FLOX come mainly from all over Germany and German-speaking countries. By participating in international art fairs, the circle is constantly expanding. With this in mind, we offer services such as advice, trial orders, delivery and installation, joint studio visits to the artists, right through to individual financing models. Talk to us.
